The Noble Savage, a mythic being reared by wolves, bearing incredible physical strength and sexual potency and living in isolation has lived on in the Western psyche as a projection of man’s fantasies and anxieties. The savageness of the natural world has long been subjugated by conquest and science, however, the archetype of the noble savage is still very much alive in the interior of our minds, clamoring for release. This exhibition is an exploration of the effect of civilization on man’s essential humanity.
